The New Zealand Herald:
Former

Mr N S
Gaze, an Auckland solicitor and former President of the Baptist Union of New
Zealand, has died, aged 63.
He was a
member for many years of the Baptist Union Council and was also on the union
executive.
For 25
years he was a member of the board of the Baptist Theological College and was
its chairman for seven years.

The New Zealand Baptist:
Noel
S Gaze
A large
and widely representative congregation of over 300 attended a service in the
Epsom Baptist Church on Wednesday, 3 August, to pay tribute to one much
honoured and loved for his life of Christian quality and service—the late Noel
S Gaze.
His
service to our Denomination extended over the past 46 years commencing with
work in the early days of our Young Men’s Bible Class Movement in which he was
a class leader, member of the first Dominion Council, and later held the
offices of Auckland President and Dominion Vice-President.
In his
profession of solicitor Mr Gaze brought the gift of a trained legal mind to the
service of the Kingdom of God and the files of his office contained records of
much professional service performed for our churches and denominational
organisations.
Actively
interested in Baptist affairs, Mr Gaze devoted time to the work of the Auckland
Association, was for many years a member of the Union Council and latterly of
the Union Executive.
