Bruges
After Waterloo we drove across Belgium, west to east, to the historic town of Bruges.
The weather was still cloudy, and so it was quite dull.
We sat in the square at one of the restaurants and had lunch. For the first (and last) time in our tour the place would not take our Visa card.
After lunch we wandered about the city, along the canal and along to the cathedral, which you can see in the photo below.
Unfortunately there was a long wait for a trip on the canal through the oldest parts of the city, so we had to be content with our walk.
We didn't visit Holland on this trip, but Bruges was the nearest we got, both geographically and, I guess, culturally.
