I have decided, with some encouragement from Margaret, to take up a new hobby: sketching.
My informal tutor is a book written by an acquaintance who lives in New Plymouth, Scott Wilson, entitled "A Pen Full of Light".
One of his hints is to develop a practice of being comfortable sketching in public, with other people watching.
So I am putting one of my first efforts on the blog today, to act as a kind of baseline.
You, as my public watchers, will be able to see the progress over the next few months -- if I manage to make some improvements. My plan is to spend a few minutes each day sketching a scene. Every so often I will post the result.
